This year Nailsea Concert Orchestra have been presenting a New World Concert series, taking us through spring, summer and now finally, Autumn/Winter and what a treat we have lined up for you…
Our final concert of the season will be on November the 23rd at Nailsea Methodist Church. It begins with the Overture to ‘The Magic Flute’, one of Mozart’s greatest successes that reached hundreds of performances during the 1790s. Ravel’s ‘Pavane pour une infante défunte’ is widely considered a masterpiece, originally written for piano, Ravel proved he was master of orchestration when he reworked it for full orchestra. Bach’s Oboe Concerto was originally a harpsichord concerto, the counterpoint demonstrating Bach was an undisputed master among his peers. Our season concludes with Dvorak’s 9th Symphony ‘From the New World’, one of the most celebrated of all symphonies.
NCO take pride in supporting local charities and this time we are supporting The Curzon Clevedon, roof appeal.
Ticket holders will be treated to a Pre-concert talk at 18:45 for anyone interested in the history of the music; this will be given by our conductor Ben England.
There will also be an open rehearsal on the day between2pm and 3.30pm, a perfect opportunity for parents to come along at no cost with their children and introduce them to the wonderful sounds of an orchestra in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Tickets for this concert can be bought in advance from Nailsea Music Shop £12/concessions £10/under 18s £2.50 or on the door on the night. Come and immerse yourselves in a wonderful evening of music.
